Framed in an old wood frame with gilt slip and glass.

Mounted to conservator standards on acid free card with chipboard backing.

The sampler is worked in silk on linen ground, in cross stitch throughout.


Meandering strawberry borders.

Colours green, gold, pink, brown and cream.
Verse reads
'The Voice that speaks Jehovah near. The still small voice I long to hear O might
it now my Lord proclaim. And fill my soul with holy shame Ashamed I must
for ever be. Ashamd the God of love to see If saints and prophets hide their face
And angels tremble while they gaze Jesus is A quiet mind Jesus is a gentle mind

Jesus is A noble mind In
Jesus is A spotless mind Jesus is
A loving mind Jesus is A thankful mind
Plant and root and fix> In me All the mind
That was in thee

potted flowering plants

and a bird.

CONDITION: Generally Good.
A number of holes.








A few pale, patchy stains.
No stitch losses other than to the holed areas.


Colours are slightly faded, but still well defined.
No colour run.
Stretching is slightly uneven and the sampler is slightly overframed on three sides.


Frame in very good condition, ready to hang.
