1828 Silkwork Sampler by Ann Bullock
George IV, dated 1828. 11ins by 12ins wide. 1828 Silkwork Sampler by Ann Bullock.
Framed in an old wood frame with gilt slip and glass.

Mounted to conservator standards on acid free card with chipboard backing.
The sampler is worked in silk on linen ground, in a variety of stitches.
Meandering floral border.
Colours cream, greens, light brown, dark brown, blue and gold.
Verse reads
'He Died that sinners such as I
May have their sins forgiven
He Died that sinners when they die
May live with him in heaven'.
Signed and dated
'Ann Bullock 1828'.
A good set of motifs, including butterflies,
flowers,
stags,
fruit baskets, birds
and a fruit tree with birds in its branches.
CONDITION: Good.
A few holes.
One small, pale stain, and slight uniform age darkening of the ground.
No stitch losses.
Colours are mostly good and strong with no noticeable fading.
No colour run.
Neatly and evenly stretched.
Frame in good condition, ready to hang.
