Verse entitled 'The tear of sympathy' reads 'No radiant pearl, which crested fortune wears,>No gem, that twinkling hangs from beauty's ears,>Nor the bright stars, which night's blue arch adorn,>Nor rising suns that gild the vernal morn.>Shine with each lustre, as the tear that breaks,>For others' woe, down Virtue's manly cheeks.'. Signed and dated 'Gifford Elizabeth Saggers Finish'd this July 30th 1839. A good set of motifs, some finely embroidered, including potted flowering plants, lions, birds, fir trees, hearts, a flower basket and stags.
