Charles II Antique Silkwork Stumpwork Picture. Framed in an old wood frame with rippled, old glass. Wood panel backing. The piece is worked in silk, metallic threads and some beading on a silk ground, in a variety of stitches, with areas of raised work. Pictorial border (unfinished), featuring flowers animals and insects. Much of the border is unstitched, leaving only the original pencil line drawings. Central panel depicts King Solomon greeting the Queen of Sheba, with landscape and castle in the background.
