Description:

Ralph Wood Staffordshire Pottery Earthenware Colour Glazed figure which features a Medici lion, stood on a plinth base. Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse. This piece represents the antique marble lions which stand at the entrance of the Loggia dei Lanzi, a building in Florence, Italy. Maker's marks impressed to reverse.
