Pair of Staffordshire Pottery figures which feature an elephant with a mahout and a tiger on it's back, stood directly on the ground, no base. Bright gilt embellishment. Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse. Vent holes are present. Maker's marks painted to the underside. Book reference ,'Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835-1875' Book 3, by A.& N. Harding, page 266, figure 2947.
