Period: pre-Victorian, circa 1830
Description: Staffordshire pearlware bocage figure with a theatrical and literary theme which features a harlequin holding his wooden sword, stood on a circular base. Multi-coloured version. Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse. Book reference not found.
Condition: Fair. Tiny chip to flower on hat. RESTORATION. Sword reglued and join retouched in two places. Head, left arm and wrist reglued and join retouched. Half the bocage leaves and flowers remodelled, some leaves retouched. Filled chip to base at reverse. Retouching to suit, bocage, hat and ground.
Dimensions: 5.5ins high, 3.9ins wide, 2.4ins depth
