Description: Pair of Staffordshire figures with a military theme which feature a armed man on a horse, seated on an oblong base. Multi-coloured version. Dull gilt base line and embellishment. Flatback, decorated only to the front. Vent hole to the reverse. Book reference,'Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835-1875' Book 2, by A.& N. Harding, page 80, figure 1937/1938.
Condition: Right facing: Generally good. Very slight wear to cape. Slight rubbing to gilt. KILN EFFECTS: touch marks to horse's right hind leg. RESTORATION. Head reglued and join retouched. Retouching to cape, hair and hat. Left facing: Good. Slight rubbing to gilt. RESTORATION. Retouching to cape, hair, hat, boots and reins.
Dimensions: Tallest is 12.2ins high, 6.9ins wide, 2.8ins depth
