Description: Pair of Staffordshire figures with a royalty theme which feature Queen Victoria and Prince Albert seated on thrones, modelled with open backs, stood on a circular base. Multi-coloured with underglaze blue version. Dull gilt base line and embellishment. Decorated mainly to the front. Book reference,'Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835-1875' Book 1, by A.& N. Harding, page 171, figure 487/488.
Condition: Prince Albert: Good. Some rubbing to gilt. KILN EFFECTS: glaze pops to his hair and shoes; flecks of stray coloured glaze to the base and his trousers; some staining, mainly to the reverse. RESTORATION: Filled chips to base. Queen Victoria: Good. Small chip to base. Slight rubbing to gilt. KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage crack to the base and reverse; slight staining to the reverse. RESTORATION: Retouched flake to front of base. Retouched paint loss to hair.
Dimensions: Tallest is 6.3ins high, 3.3ins wide, 3.3ins depth
