| Pair of Kent Staffordshire figures with a royalty theme which feature King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra, stood on a square base. The pieces are titled, 'KING EDWARD VII' & 'QUEEN ALEXANDRA' to the fronts. Multi-coloured version. Bright gilt title and embellishment. Decorated mainly to the front. | King Edward VII: Good. A few paint losses to red on bow, sword and shirt. Some rubbing to gilt. KILN EFFECTS: notable crazing; kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the reverse. RESTORATION. His left shoe, red jacket, epaulettes, sword and gilt have been retouched. Queen Alexandra: Good. A few paint losses to red sash. Some rubbing to gilt. KILN EFFECTS: kiln soot caught in the glaze to the base; small firing pits to the front and reverse. RESTORATION. Red sash and crown and gilt has been retouched. |
