| Pair of Staffordshire porcellaneous figures with a childhood theme which feature a lady and gent, each holding an infant, seated on a circular base. Multi-coloured version. Dull gilt base line and embellishment. Flatback, decorated only to the front. Book reference not found. |
| Female: Generally good. Two small chips to stool. Small flake to baby's bonnet. Slight rubbing to gilt. Slight wear to bonnet. KILN EFFECTS: staining to the bonnet and the base. RESTORATION: Head reglued and join retouched. Nose retouched. Filled chips to baby's left hand and arm. Baby's right hand remodelled. Male: Good. Slight rubbing to gilt. Some wear to both arms. KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage crack to the base; small firing hole to Prince's left leg; small over glazed chip to base; staining to the base, stool and reverse; flecks of stray coloured glaze to the base. RESTORATION: Left arm and left hand reglued and join retouched. Stabilised and retouched hairline to his neck and his right wrist. Infant's right hand remodelled. Retouching to hair on both. |
