Description: Pair of Staffordshire figures which feature a spaniel, seated directly on the ground, no base. Black and white version. Dull gilt embellishment. Decorated mainly to the front. Vent hole to the underside. Book reference,'Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835-1875' Book 3, by A.& N. Harding, page 243, figure a2469A/a2469B.
Condition: Right facing: Good. No restoration. Shallow chip to the underside. Slight flaking to one of the dog's markings. A few paint losses to the dog's paws. Some rubbing to gilt. KILN EFFECTS: flecks of stray black glaze to the dog's body; small glaze misses to the top of the dog's head. Left facing: Very good. No restoration. Paint loss to dog's right eye. Some rubbing to gilt. Slight wear and scratching to the dog's tail and ears. KILN EFFECTS: flecks of stray black glaze to the dog's body; small glaze misses to the top of the dog's head.
Dimensions: Tallest is 11ins high, 9.1ins wide, 6.7ins depth
