Pair Staffordshire Cow&Calf spill vases

Description: Pair of Staffordshire spill vases with a pastoral theme which feature a cow with her calf beside a stream, stood on an oval base. Russet and white version. Bright gilt base line and embellishment. Decorated mainly to the front. Book reference,'Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835-1875' Book 2, by A.& N. Harding, page 240, figure 2893/2894.
Condition: Right facing: Good. Some rubbing to gilt. KILN EFFECTS: flecks of stray coloured glaze to the cow's back; shrinkage crack under the cow's right front leg. RESTORATION: Filled chip to cow's left ear. Left facing: Good. No restoration. Slight rubbing to gilt. KILN EFFECTS: flecks of stray coloured glaze to the cow's back; kiln soot caught in the glaze to the reverse; kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the reverse and base.
Dimensions: Tallest is 11.2ins high, 9.1ins wide, 4.7ins depth
