Kent Staffordshire Cat Toby jug

Description: Kent Staffordshire jug/pitcher which features a cat holding a scroll, wearing a robe and hat, crouched on a circular base. Multi-coloured version. Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse. Book reference not found.
Condition: Good. KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage line to the cat's neck at the reverse; flecks of stray coloured glaze to the handle; piece of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the right wrist. RESTORATION: Filled chip to the underside. Retouched paint losses to hat, coat, claws, whiskers, eyes and eyebrows.
