Description: Pair of Staffordshire figures which feature cats on cushions, seated on a square base. Jackfield black version. Dull gilt base line and embellishment. Decorated mainly to the front. Vent hole to reverse of one. Book reference,'Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835-1875' Book 2, by A.& N. Harding, page 237, figure 2869/2870.
Condition: Right facing: Generally good. Some scratches to cat's body. Slight rubbing to gilt. KILN EFFECT: small glaze miss to the reverse of cushion. RESTORATION: Filled chip to left ear. Cat reglued to base and join retouched. Left facing: Good. Some wear and scratching to cat's body. Some rubbing to gilt and one eye. KILN EFFECT: thin glaze application to parts of the cushion. RESTORATION: A few small filled chips to lower base edge.
Dimensions: Tallest is 7.3ins high, 3.7ins wide, 3ins depth
