Staffordshire Pearlware Diana figure

Period: pre-Victorian, circa 1820
Description: Staffordshire pearlware figure with a mythological theme which features Diana, pulling an arrow from her quiver, stood on a square base. Multi-coloured version. Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse. Vent hole to the underside. Book reference,'English Earthenware Figures 1740-1840' by Pat Halfpenny, page 180, figure 1.
Condition: Good. Some small flakes to her bow and hair. A few paint losses to her quiver. KILN EFFECTS: bruise to her left leg; kiln grit caught in the glaze to the base. RESTORATION: Retouched flakes to her chin, shawl and to the base. Filled chips to her headdress and to corner of base. Retouched paintloss to the ground.
