Description: Pair of Staffordshire figures which feature a curly tailed spaniel, seated. Russet and white version. Dull gilt embellishment. Flatback, decorated mainly to the front. Vent hole to the reverse. Book reference,'A-Z of Staffordshire Dogs, A Potted History', by Clive Mason Pope, page 87, figure 22.
Condition: Right facing: Good. No restoration. Slight rubbing to gilt. Slight wear to russet markings. KILN EFFECTS: touch mark to the tail; staining to the dog's back; kiln detritus caught in the glaze. Left facing: Good. No restoration. Slight rubbing to gilt. Some wear to russet markings. KILN EFFECTS: staining to the top of the spaniels head, back and tail; kiln detritus caught in the glaze.
Dimensions: Tallest is 12.2ins high, 9.8ins wide, 4.1ins depth
