Description: Pair of Staffordshire spill vases with a hunting theme which feature Irish Setters holding game birds in their mouths, stood on a shaped base. Multi-coloured version. Dull gilt base line. Decorated mainly to the front. Book reference,'Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835-1875' Book 2, by A.& N. Harding, page 215, figure 2708/2709.
Condition: Right facing: Good. A few paint losses to muzzle and bird. Slight rubbing to gilt. KILN EFFECTS: stained crazing. RESTORATION. Retouching to black markings and top of spill. Filled chip to base edge at reverse. Left facing: Good. Slight rubbing to gilt. KILN EFFECTS: stained crazing. RESTORATION. Retouching to black markings, muzzle and ground.
Dimensions: Tallest is 9.4ins high, 7.5ins wide, 2.8ins depth
