Single Staffordshire No.6 black & white spaniel

Period: Victorian, circa 1860
Description: Staffordshire figure which features a spaniel, seated directly on the ground, no base. Black and white version. Dull gilt embellishment. Flatback, decorated mainly to the front. Vent hole to the underside. Maker's marks no.6 molded into the underside. Book reference,'Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835-1875' Book 2, by A.& N. Harding, page 174.
Condition: Generally good. A few paint losses to the paws. Some rubbing to gilt. KILN EFFECTS: notable crazing; touch marks to the reverse. RESTORATION: Retouching to reverse of head. Stabilized and retouched crack to base rim under tail running up the reverse. Stabilized and retouched hairline to top of head.
