WMF sardine dish, stand & cover (visit our website WMF gallery)
Circa 1910. 6.25ins by 8.5ins wide, 3ins high. WMF rectangular sardine dish, stand and cover.
Glass dish with round corners, wavy inside edges and star like molding to center,
sits inside a silver stand with pond lily pad decoration around the edge.
Cover has the same pond lily decoration around the edge with a sardine as the finial.
Impressed maker's marks 'A.K.&CIE' to the center of stand. This mark represents 'Albert Kohler and Cie', a company that was taken over by WMF.
Similar piece illustrated on page 253, 'Art Nouveau Domestic Design from Wurttembergische Metallwaren Fabrik' published by the 'Antique Collectors Club'.
Condition
Good. Some wear and scratches to all three pieces.Go
