Staffordshire elephants, pair, miniature

Pair of miniature staffordshire elephants on ochre lined oval bases. Brown in color with green, tasseled saddle cloths over their backs. Vent hole to bases, creamy glaze with blue tinge. Similar piece illustrated: figure 2944/2945 on page 247 of Schiffer's 'Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835-1875' Book 2, by A.& N. Harding.
CONDITION: Good. No cracks. No hairlines. No chips. Minor flaking to the enamel on both, worst illustrated. Kiln effects: a firing crack to base at reverse and a fine shrinkage line between the elephant's feet on right facing, illustrated. Nil restoration.
