Staffordshire Pearlware figure of Neptune standing on a dolphin upon a rocky mound which is molded onto a hollow square pedestal base. Well decorated all round with arms and one leg molded free. Good creamy glaze with blue tinge to pedestal base. CONDITION: Good. No cracks. No hairlines. Minor bruise to one corner of base. Minor flaking around the foot rim. Kiln effects: shrinkage crack to his knee, a few shrinkage lines to the inside of pedestal base, uneven cobalt glaze to his robe. Restored chip to the reserve of robe and another to front right corner of base. Restoration to middle section and tip of trident along with one prong of the fork.
