Holdcroft Majolica stick stand molded in the form of a bamboo cane and decorated with leafy bamboo branches and peony flowers on turquoise ground. Pink interior. Brown band around the rim and base. Green glaze underneath with three stilt marks and a painted mark. CONDITION: Good. Minor chip to one bamboo leaf. Kiln effects: two over glazed shrinkage hairlines underneath. Shrinkage crack to the end of one bamboo branch. Minor green glaze run from one bamboo leaf. Over glazed manufacture flake to the rim. A few pieces of kiln detritus and glaze pits to the exterior. Repaired crack to rim.
