Wedgwood Majolica fly match box

Wedgwood Majolica match box in the form of a fly (bluebottle) on a leafy base. The wings and thorax form the removable cover, with a rough patch for striking a match to the underside. Cream interior. Impressed 'WEDGWOOD' maker's mark to underneath of base, along with undecipherable date mark and painted 'XL'.. CONDITION: Good. No hairlines. Two tiny flakes to the head. Small bruise to the tail end of the box. Kiln effects: shrinkage crack and slight staining to the interior. Stray brown glaze spots to interior. Glaze run to the brown on the base of the box. Restored chip to one wing tip, and another to the flange on the cover. No restoration to the box.
