George Jones Majolica birds strawberry server & spoon

George Jones Majolica strawberry server, spoon, sugar pot and creamer which features two blue tits perched on a trestle of twigs entwined with strawberries. Colouration: brown, green, pink, are predominant. The piece bears maker's marks for the George Jones pottery. English diamond registration mark for the date 09/01/1875. Book reference,'Majolica A complete History and illustrated Survey' by Karmason & Stacke, page 92, figure 1.. CONDITION: Stand: Generally good. Slight wear to the underside. KILN EFFECTS: craze lines to the interior. RESTORATION: Two feet reglued and joins retouched. Several stabilised and retouched cracks to trestle. Retouched chips and flakes to rims, leaves, flowers and birds. Spoon: Good. Some small flakes to rim. Slight wear to handle. RESTORATION: Retouched flake to rim. Pot: Generally good. Wear to the rim and exterior. RESTORATION: Section of rim reglued and join retouched. Stabilized and retouched crack to rim of same pot. Both have retouched flakes to lower base edge and paint loss to black studs.
